UECCC to increase access to off grid solar electricity through a Working Capital Facility for solar companies New!!!
UECCC has launched its Working Capital Facility that will see PFIs providing working capital loans to solar companies implementing the Pay As You Go (PAYG), Pay Plan and Cash Business Models, to finance the purchase/import financing for stock of Solar Home System, and expenses relating to acquisition of the stock, including taxes, import dues, transport cost and clearing.

UECCC is currently designing a Working Capital Facility for Solar Companies that sell Solar systems on a Pay As You Go, Pay Plan or Cash basis. The facility will be availed to Participating Financial Institutions (PFIs) for on-lending to eligible Solar Companies. On 27th and 28th June 2017, UECCC held workshops for Solar companies and PFIs to review the design of the Facility.
UECCC has developed another financing solution seeking to establish linkages with Savings and Credit Co-operative Organizations (SACCOs) and Member Organizations (not regulated by Bank of Uganda) for increased financing of off-grid solar PV solutions for rural electrification. Read More >>
