UECCC) and GIZ “Promotion of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency programme” (PREEEP) are executing a Cooperation Agreement to promote climate change mitigation activities in Uganda.
Objectives of The Cooperation
To increase the involvement of the private sector in the development of Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) projects and at least three projects should be supported for inclusion into existing Progamme of Activities (PoAs).
To provide technical support for concrete project ideas especially in the development of business plans and financing schemes, and in preparation of feasibility studies and selection of suitable appraisers
Identification of financial solutions for potential CDM projects
To Provide advisory support and create awareness on Objectives of the Cooperation Successes registered information about CDM to project developers, owners, investors as well as directly or indirectly to stakeholders
Provide advisory support and create awareness on information about CDM and new market mechanisms to UECCC’s staff.
We all have a role to play in supporting Uganda as it strives to attain middle income status. UECCC will continue to support this cause by providing financial, technical and other innovative solutions that facilitate private sector participation in the electrification of Uganda’s rural areas.
